Castillo Slugs White Sox to 5-3 Win
|
The WL White Sox stopped the WL Pirates, 5-3, at New Beaver Grounds. The White Sox got a big game from Luis F. Castillo, who hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The winner was WL reliever Wilbert Nash, now 1-1. The loser was Luis Gallegos. Chad Jackson earned the save, his 4th, for the White Sox.
Castillo had a big at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The White Sox went on to win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Castillo told a WL Chronicle reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Pirates, at 3-14, have lost 4 in a row.
