Royals Earn 7-5 Win Against Twins
The Kansas City Royals faced a tough opponent in Minnesota pitcher Huascar Ynoa, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Target Field by a final score of 7-5 in 11 innings. Ynoa went 5.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The win belonged to Edward Escoboza in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Pat Calhoun took the loss for Minnesota. Mike Long, credited with the save, is now 1 for 3 in save opportunities.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Ramão La Arena came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Minnesota pitcher Pat Calhoun, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Kansas City on top, 7-5.

"We're all smiles after that win," La Arena told the Kansas City Herald.

The loss makes Minnesota 35-30.
