Lantigua, Angels Sink Diamondbacks Again in Game 2
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of designated hitter Jonas Lantigua, the Los Angeles Angels stopped the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks, 10-2, in Game 2 of the World Series today. Lantigua went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Angels, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
In the bottom of the fifth, Los Angeles second baseman Isranel Wilson had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 1st and no one out, Wilson stroked a 2-run home run to left. It made the score 3-1, Los Angeles. For the game, he went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
Arizona manager Clint Hurdle called the blowout loss "a real dud."
The next game is set to be played for Monday, October 30th , 2023 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
