Home Loss Shrinks Mariners Series Lead to 2-1
|
Already down in the League Divisional Series, the Detroit Tigers put on their best show, beating the Seattle Mariners by a final score of 1-0. Jonathon Carroll was special. He threw 8.2 innings of shutout ball. Detroit now trails Seattle 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.
Detroit starter Jonathon Carroll pitched like a boss. The 6-foot-2 right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 8.2 innings.
"I thought Jonathon threw the ball well across the board," said Detroit manager Ray Hayward.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Safeco Field in Seattle.
