Game 5 was big. So was Joe Ross.

In leading Milwaukee to a crucial 5-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox at Miller Park, the Milwaukee starter rose to the occasion, tossing 6.2 good innings. Ross threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs as the Brewers defended their home field to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 World Series.

Steve Sanders, the 28th overall pick in the 2019 draft, came through for Milwaukee with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. The third baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 2 RBI.

"We're happy," Sanders told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 6 is scheduled for Wednesday at Fenway Park in Boston.
