Ogden Tops Idaho Falls Again, 6-2
|
The Ogden Raptors moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the visiting Idaho Falls Chukars at Lindquist Field by a score of 6-2. Raptors first baseman Norberto Garza did some major damage. He was 1-3 with a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win gives the Raptors a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Round 1.
In the bottom of the third, Garza had one of his most important at-bats: a bases-clearing triple off Irving Cook that staked the Raptors to a 4-1 lead.
"There's nothing like the postseason," said Garza, "to ramp up the pressure."
Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Melaleuca Field in Idaho Falls.
