The Cincinnati Reds did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Cubs, 6-5, at Wrigley Field. Cincinnati pitcher Dave Parsons, in particular, had a standout performance. The Reds, at 26-31, have now won 4 straight.

The Reds got a big hit from right fielder José Parra. Facing Chicago pitcher Severino Gonzalez in the top of the fifth, Parra pounded a 2-run home run to center. His 13th home run of the season put the Reds ahead, 6-0.

"Nice to keep stacking the wins," said Parra.
