Philadelphia (VSL) got a terrific game from third baseman Adrián Montepeque. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Detroit (VSL), 12-8. Montepeque was 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The Tigers improved their record to 37-13 with the win over Philadelphia (VSL).

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the ninth, with the game tied, Juan Soto was at the plate when Detroit (VSL) scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Tigers to go in front, 10-8.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Soto.
