Cincinnati and Chicago duked it out and the Reds came out victorious.

The Cincinnati Reds had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Matt Harvey to win, 5-4, at Great American Ball Park. Harvey went 7 innings and allowed 4 runs. Anthony DeSclafani locked down his 5th save.

Had Jeff Adams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Adams hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Reds.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Adams.

The defeat makes Chicago 22-30.
