Cubs Continue Skid, Thanks to Ríos, Tigers
Detroit (VSL) beat Chicago (VSL) at VSL Tigers Complex, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Jesús Ríos. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The winner was Jon Harper, who threw 68 pitches over 5.1 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 9 hits. Arsenio Pelayo collected his 2nd save.

Ríos went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Detroit (VSL). With the game tied in the bottom of the fifth inning, Ríos had a clutch at-bat. That's when he hit a 3-run home run to give the Tigers a 6-3 lead.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Ríos told the Detroit (VSL) News.
