Jackson Breaks Through for First Win in Round 2; Now Trails 3-1
|
Already down in the Round 2, the Jackson Generals put on their best show, beating the Jacksonville Suns by a final score of 3-2. Alex Stanton was special. He was 4 for 4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. Jackson now trails Jacksonville 3-1 in the best-of-7 affair.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Stanton hit a circle change from António Fontanez for a run-scoring double. The Generals, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
Stanton called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ballpark at Jackson in Jackson.
