Reds Get Past Chicago for 3-2 Win
In a tight contest between the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Cubs, Bert Gooderston was the determining factor. The Cincinnati right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. With the win over Chicago, the Reds improved to 21-30.

Mike Lambright helped out the Cincinnati cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the left fielder was 1-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.

"That was a really good outing by Bert," said Cincinnati manager Julio Vinas.
