Round 2 Game 1 Goes to Corpus Christi, Thanks to Burton
The Corpus Christi Hooks started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Arkansas Travelers at Whataburger Field by a score of 6-2 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Hooks designated hitter Curt Burton hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice.

There was more than one reason the Hooks beat the Travelers, but Burton's big at-bat in the bottom of the first was an important factor. He staked his team to a 3-0 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.

"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Corpus Christi manager Alex Gordon.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
