The Boston (GCL) Red Sox downed the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays, 5-2, at JetBlue Park. Nate Martin led the way, going 2-for-4 for Boston (GCL). Boston (GCL) reliever Ed Scott picked up the win, while Jeff Stephens took the loss for Tampa Bay (GCL). Mike Henry converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.

Had Colm Evans not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Evans hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Red Sox.
