Marlins, Bishop Pin Bad Loss on Nationals
The Miami (GCL) Marlins defeated the Washington (GCL) Nationals, 13-1, in part because of center fielder Steve Bishop. Bishop went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Marlins. The winner in relief was Curt Smith. He is now 3-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. Miami (GCL) is sitting pretty at 39-15.

The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Bishop delivered big-time for Miami (GCL), stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Dan Kidd. The game-changing hit put the Marlins on top, 2-1.

Washington (GCL) manager Wade Davis called the blowout loss "not my idea of a good time."
