Philadelphia (GCL) overcame a superior effort from Luis Manuel Navarro to beat New York A1 (GCL), 4-2. The New York A1 (GCL) pitcher threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Mauro Dávila, now 4-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The first-place Phillies have won 9 straight games.
The outcome turned when Gil Elam came to bat in the top of the eighth. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Philadelphia (GCL) shortstop hit a 2-run single. It gave his team the lead and helped them secure the win.
