Boston (GCL) got a strong outing from Esteban Quintero as the Red Sox defeated the Baltimore (GCL) Orioles, 4-0, at JetBlue Park. Quintero, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks. The Red Sox, now 23-27, know that wins in August count the same as wins in September.
Boston (GCL) second baseman Héctor García contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 36th hit of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 2-0.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said García.
