The FCL Mets knocked off the FCL Astros, 4-3, in Florida Complex League action at Ensigns Ballpark. FCL pitcher and San Fernando, Venezuela, native José Gómez had an outstanding performance. River Porter, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 0.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The victory gives the Mets a record of 35-10.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when FCL left fielder Joe Rosemond, facing Joe Morgan, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Mets the 4-3 win.

"José was throwing free and easy," said FCL manager Travis Tartamella.
