García goes 4-for-5 to Pull Red Sox to .500
|
The Boston (GCL) Red Sox powered past the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays, 14-4, at Louisville Grounds. Héctor García provided some of the pop. He went 4 for 5 with 3 doubles and a walk. He scored 4 runs. Esteban Quintero got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The win elevated the Red Sox to 21-21.
Boston (GCL) used a clutch at-bat from Mauro Pérez to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 10-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Pérez.
