Martinez Delivers Walk-Off Win for Twins
The Minnesota Twins withstood an impressive performance by Cleveland first baseman Liam Thompson to defeat the Guardians, 8-7, at Target Field. Thompson went 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Minnesota pitcher Pat Calhoun got the win. He's now 1-3. Andy Walker was tagged with the loss. Today's win puts Minnesota at 23-27, while Cleveland falls to 18-30.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Minnesota second baseman Jose A. Martinez, facing Andy Walker, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Twins the 8-7 win.

"Big win," said Martinez.
