New York N (GCL) Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Wright
New York N (GCL) left fielder Ed Wright had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Wright was 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 4, even as St. Louis (GCL) beat the Mets, 11-10. Jeremy Steward earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. The winning streak has now reached 6 games for St. Louis (GCL).

St. Louis (GCL) used a timely hit from J.R. Ashley to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 11-9. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
