Kennedy Hits 2 home runs in Pirates Win
The 4-1 Pittsburgh (GCL) win over Toronto (GCL) was due largely to Jeff Kennedy. The Pirates right fielder went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Joe Webber snagged the win in relief. In 4 innings, the left-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. The save was credited to Stan Valentine, his 3rd.

Kennedy contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Pittsburgh (GCL) in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Kennedy took a fastball from Duane Short and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Pirates to leap in front, 2-1.

"It was a good effort all around," said Kennedy.

The Pirates now have a record of 6-8 with the win over Toronto (GCL).
