The Boston Red Sox extended their winning streak.

Rafael Devers impressed in the 5-2 Boston win over New York. Devers, who finished 4th in the AL in on-base percentage with .390 in 2021, went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The Red Sox, at 26-23, have now won 6 straight.

Had Dan Combs not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Combs hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Red Sox.

"I really like what we did out there today," Devers said after the game.
