Ortega scores 3 runs, Yankees Move to 6-2

The FCL Yankees licked the FCL Cardinals, 8-1. Lúcio Ortega deserved a big chunk of the credit. The designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Yankees. FCL reliever José Rodríguez picked up the win to move to 2-0. Víctor Gutiérrez suffered the loss. The loss drops FCL to 1-5.
FCL left fielder Jorge Liñares contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a splitter to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 12th hit of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 2-0.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Ortega told the FCL Herald.
