Extra frames were needed to settle this game between the St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals and New York N (GCL) Mets.

Despite a fine performance by left fielder Jerry Dickey, the New York N (GCL) Mets lost to the St. Louis (GCL) Cardinals, 8-6. Dickey was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. St. Louis (GCL) reliever Billy Kynaston got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Jorge Lara was tagged with the loss.

It could have been a different outcome for St. Louis (GCL), had it not been for Ethan Brandt, the 17-year old catcher . Brandt contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put St. Louis (GCL) up, 7-6.

"We got the victory," said Brandt. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
