5 hits in a game has always been a big milestone in baseball -- 5 hits in a game gets a player's name in the record book, win or lose. Dan Kengor got his name recorded today, but the FCL Cardinals picked up the win at Roger Dean Stadium, topping the FCL Tigers, 9-5.

"He bushwhacked us," said winning manager Casper Wells. "We were lucky to come out ahead."

Kengor, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2024 draft, spoke to reporters in the clubhouse following the game, saying his nerves only set in once he was on the cusp of the milestone.

"I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime day," the second baseman said. "I think the coaches could tell I was going to be ready to swing at anything close. That's why my third base coach told me to calm down and wait for a good pitch. That got me back on track."

Dan Kengor hit an RBI triple in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Kengor is hitting .565 with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .583 clip and scored 6 runs.
