Angels Take Down Rangers, 6-5
|
A 3-RBI performance from Eric Scales, the 32nd overall pick in the 2021 draft, helped the Los Angeles Angels beat the Texas Rangers, 6-5. Los Angeles reliever Mrinal Shivaprakash was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Chris Wynn took the loss. The losses continue to mount for Texas, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, three-time All-Star Augusto Ramírez had a real shot to win the game. Texas pitcher Lou Green was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Ramírez hit a run-scoring single. The Angels had a walk-off triumph.
"It was bedlam at the end," Scales said.
