Riding the 2-hit performance of shortstop Bob Norwood, the New York N (GCL) Mets got a road win against the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays, 18-5, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Norwood went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 5 for the Mets, who now lead the best-of-5 series, 2 games to 0.

Shawn Simons helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a full count fastball from Chad Yoder for a 2-run double, to give New York N (GCL) a 2-0 lead.

"We haven't stopped playing," Tampa Bay (GCL) manager Brandon Macias said. "We didn't get this far to give up."
