When he got to Toronto (GCL), Vince Stanford was just worrying about staying on the roster. Today, he was starring in the Round 1.

The 18-year-old rookie right-hander shut out the visiting Minnesota (GCL) Twins, 9-0, in a remarkable performance at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. With the win, the Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Minnesota (GCL) had a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh. With no one out, Tim Britton stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he struck out. The score remained 2-0, Toronto (GCL). The Twins never could mount a comeback.
