Almost There: Connecticut On Cusp of Round 2 Triumph After 3-0 Win
Their bats were silent and Connecticut had a rookie on the mound. No problem.

On a day when the Tigers struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 22-year-old starter Curt Nance. The right-hander quieted the Williamsport Crosscutters at Bowman Field to help Connecticut take the 3-0 decision and seize a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Round 2.

Nance delivered a quality start for Connecticut. The 6' 1" right-hander allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 6.2 innings of work.

"Curt was able to execute his pitches," said Connecticut manager Bo Porter. "Simple as that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
