Williamsport Win to Pull Even With Connecticut
Behind a bravura effort from starter Tony Martínez, the Williamsport Crosscutters topped the Connecticut Tigers by the score of 6-0 today and got their first win in the 2023 Round 2. Martínez threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball for the Crosscutters. The win moves Williamsport into a 1-1 tie with Connecticut.

The Crosscutters liked what they saw from Martínez. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Tigers to no runs on 7 hits over 8 innings, and striking out 7.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Williamsport manager Jeff Mathis.

Game 3 is scheduled for Tuesday at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
