When the games really matter, the Williamsport Crosscutters put on their best show, beating the Brooklyn Cyclones by a final score of 8-0 today. Baltesar Covilh threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Williamsport now leads Brooklyn 2-0 in the best-of-5 affair.

Covilh was in the zone all game. He frustrated Brooklyn hitters while giving the Crosscutters 8 innings of quality work. Covilh threw 88 pitches, allowing 5 hits and getting 6 punchouts.

In postgame comments, Covilh said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
