Mahoning Valley Scrappers left-hander Don Williams pitched a good game against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Centennial Field, leading his team to victory, 7-3. Dylan Fairchild claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. With the victory, the Scrappers upped their record to 38-37.

Mahoning Valley used the timely hitting of Steve Johnson to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Scrappers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Williams.
