In a low-scoring clash between Connecticut and State College, pitcher Junior Taylor was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 win. Yasunobu Hayagawa earned the save for Connecticut, his 23rd of the year. Connecticut leads the Stedler Division by 4 games.

Tyrone Hanna put Connecticut in front, 3-1, when he took Clint Hampton downtown. His 3-run home run came with one out in the bottom of the fifth. It was his 11th home run of the season.

"We take it day by day here," said Hanna, "and today was a good one for us."
