The Auburn Doubledays topped the State College Spikes, 10-3, in New York-Penn League action at Falcon Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Auburn designated hitter Jerry Smith. The winner in relief was Jonathan Parrish. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 5 innings. The Doubledays, at 37-38, inhabit 4th place in the Pinckney Division.

Auburn got a big at-bat from Porterville, California native Ronnie Washington, who in the bottom of the third hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Doubledays ahead, 9-1.

"Glad to go home with a win," said Washington.
