Brent Brown Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Orem Owlz and Grand Junction Rockies.

The Orem Owlz topped the Grand Junction Rockies, 5-4, in Pioneer League action at Brent Brown Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Orem designated hitter and Fresno, California, native Leon Thompson. Thompson yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-0. Mike Taylor was credited with the save, his 15th in 15 tries.

First Baseman Brad Parker made an impact for Orem, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Juan García in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Parker was 1-4 with a double.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Parker told reporters after the game.

Orem is now 32-44, Grand Junction 14-61.
