The home crowd had a good time watching the Princeton Rays and Bristol Pirates get after it.

The bat of Ernie Griffin helped the Bristol Pirates top the Princeton Rays, 11-5. Griffin was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times for Bristol. The win was credited to Steve Allen in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Ben Lake took the loss.

Emmitt Shiplack had a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the Bristol second baseman hit a 3-run home run. It made the score 8-5, and led to the win.

Griffin told the Bristol Daily News: "I was born for the big stage."

With the win, the Pirates hiked their record to 40-24.
