Twins Pull Out Late-Game Win, 4-3
|
Danville left fielder Patrick Boulay had a good game, even if his team did not. The Firebirds dropped a 4-3 decision to Elizabethton at Joe O'Brien Field. Boulay went 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Elizabethton pitcher Alvin Long got the win, upping his record to 5-0. Shawn Moore got the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Elizabethton.
Jeff Larsen was the walk-off hero for Elizabethton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That was a backyard tug-of-war," said Twins manager Angel Pagan.
