Greeneville Blanks Kingsport Behind Morgan
The Kingsport Mets manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Greeneville Astros. The Mets were overpowered by Greeneville starter Joe Morgan, who hurled his club to victory, 9-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Luis Avilan said.

Over 9 innings, Morgan blanked Kingsport on 5 hits with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Morgan said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

Checking out his stats for the season, Morgan has notched 2 wins and 7 losses in 13 starts. His ERA is 4.32 and he's struck out 59 batters in 83.1 innings.
