Yankees Solve Princeton in Extra Innings
|
Princeton got a valiant performance from pitcher Mike Graves, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pulaski Yankees. Pulaski won the game, 4-2. Graves threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The second-place Yankees have won 5 consecutive games.
Pulaski took a 4-2 lead on Art Jones's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Jones hit in the top of the 11th, left Princeton pitcher Tommy Jackson visibly frustrated.
"When you think about it," Jones said, "there's often a fine line between triumph and tragedy. One pitch, one swing of the bat can make all the difference."
