The Kingsport Mets got a superb performance from pitcher Bob Morris. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bristol. The Pirates won the game, 6-1. Morris threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The Pirates have an impressive 29-17 record.

In the bottom of the sixth, Bristol second baseman Emmitt Shiplack put his team on top. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit his 9th double of the year. Kingsport pitcher Bob Morris served it up. Just like that, the Pirates were ahead, 2-1.

Shiplack told a Bristol Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
