Cardinals Lose at Home, 2-0, to Burlington
|
Burlington Royals starter Steffen Lord worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the Johnson City Cardinals, 2-0. Lord went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-0. Lou McKee finished the game for Burlington and earned his 11th save.
Ramão La Arena, the 16th overall pick in the 2020 draft, helped out the Burlington cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the left fielder was 2-5 with a double.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Burlington skipper Bartolo Colon.
The win for the Royals raised their record to 35-11.
