Cardinals Drop to .500 After 13-3 Loss to Rays
The home team was supported by a raucous crowd at H.P. Hunnicutt Field.

Benefiting from Bobby Wilson's productive game, the Princeton Rays downed the Johnson City Cardinals, 13-3. Wilson went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Rays. Joe Bodenham was the winner. He's now 2-5. The loser was 20-year old right-handed pitcher Brad Willis.

With Princeton leading 9-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Wilson came up to bat against Johnson City pitcher José Durán. Wilson hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season put the Rays on top, 12-1.

"Enjoyed this one," Wilson told the Princeton Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Princeton.
