New York second baseman Pat Flores was sensational. He was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Pittsburgh beat the Mets, 9-4. Aaron Sanchez earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 3-0. The loss makes New York 14-28.

Brad McBride helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead.

"We didn't pitch good, and when you don't pitch good, you lose," said New York manager Raul Dominguez.
