Today at Bowen Field, Mickael Gentil put on an impressive display.

The Elizabethton Twins shortstop tagged Bluefield pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Bluefield Blue Jays by the score of 12-11.

"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Gentil said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."

Despite the terrific performance, the Twins manager was unwilling to offer the shortstop much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.

"Mickael told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Angel Pagan said.

Mickael Gentil hit a solo-shot off Ernesto González in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and walked in the 9th.


This year, Gentil is batting .336 with 4 home runs. He has scored 14 runs and driven in 21.
