Blue Jays Take Down Rays, 4-3
The Bluefield Blue Jays did just enough to sneak past the Princeton Rays, 4-3, at Bowen Field. Bluefield pitcher Bob Davis, in particular, had a standout performance. The winner in relief was Rodrigo Martínez. He is now 2-1. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. The Blue Jays improved their record to 14-13 with the win over Princeton.

The Blue Jays got a clutch hit from second baseman Cliff Watkins. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Blue Jays.

"You play a lot of one-run games," said Bluefield skipper Jose Mejia, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."
