Pulaski Sends Bristol Packing with 6-5 Loss
|
Jon Rowe impressed in the 6-5 Pulaski win over Bristol. Rowe went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Jeff Bennett, now 1-1, was credited with the win in 5 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. Ethan Ward earned his 5th save, after closing out the game.
Rowe contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Pulaski in the top of the sixth. With his team trailing 5-2, Rowe took a slider from Dave McAndrew and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Yankees to leap in front, 6-5.
"When the ball finds the sweet spot," said Rowe, "I can't complain."
The Yankees, at 9-11, inhabit 4th place in the East.
