Burlington got a decent performance from pitcher Vince Lyons, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pulaski Yankees. Pulaski won the Burlington Athletic Stadium contest, 4-2. Lyons threw 8.0 innings allowing 4 runs for the losing team. By defeating Burlington, the 4th-place Yankees improved to 7-10.
Pulaski used the hitting of Jeff Lambert to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Yankees on top, 3-0. For the game, Lambert had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Burlington manager Bartolo Colon said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
