Late Rally by Phillies Locks Up 6-3 Win
|
Maikel Franco was a vital contributor to the 6-3 Philadelphia victory over Boston. The Phillies third baseman went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Philadelphia reliever Brad Townsend picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Terence McCray took the loss. Philadelphia now has a record of 23-19 with the win.
Franco had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Terence McCray, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Phillies a 6-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Franco.
"I really like what we did out there today," Franco said after the game.
