The Kingsport Mets and Bluefield Blue Jays delighted fans at Bowen Field.

Bluefield third baseman José Carranza made his presence felt in the 5-3 Blue Jays triumph over the Kingsport Mets. Carranza went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The save went to Arturo Acevedo, number 1 for him.

Carranza contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Bluefield in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Carranza took a changeup from Dominic Roy and stroked the home run to right. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Blue Jays to leap in front, 4-2.

"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Carranza. "But I have better dreams after a win."

With the loss, Kingsport sinks to 7-2.
